Get answers to common questions about Micro Twist.
A full Micro Twist installation usually takes between three to six hours depending on hair length, density, and desired thickness. We schedule accordingly and recommend arriving with detangled, clean hair to help streamline the process and achieve uniform results.
Hair is not included. Clients should bring pre-matched synthetic or human hair if desired; we can recommend types and estimate quantities. If you prefer, we can supply hair at an additional cost—please ask when booking for options and pricing.
Micro twists work well with natural, textured hair and most relaxed or low-porosity types when prepared properly. Extremely fine or chemically damaged hair may need extra care or shorter lengths to avoid slippage or breakage—consult with our stylist for personalized advice.
Maintain Micro twists by covering hair at night with a satin scarf or bonnet, lightly moisturizing the scalp and twists, and avoiding heavy products. Wash gently every two to three weeks with diluted shampoo, followed by careful drying to prevent mildew and reduce frizz.
Touch ups depend on hair growth and style neatness; most clients return every four to six weeks for maintenance. Smaller Micro twists may need more frequent retouches. We assess your hair at booking and recommend a schedule that preserves style while protecting natural hair.
Yes—with precautions. Use a swim cap or rinse hair promptly after swimming to remove chlorine; tie twists loosely during exercise and avoid tight styles. Regularly dry and moisturize to prevent mildew and breakage. If you plan frequent swimming, discuss protective options with your stylist.
